Holiday Season Beauty Tips | Provenance Aesthetics and Wellness

How To Look And Feel Your Best This Holiday Season

It’s that special time of year—December! ‘Tis the season for glittering holiday soirees, Christmas gatherings, holiday date nights and fun-filled New Years Eve. The holidays are also a great time to put your best face forward and dazzle friends and family with you looking and feeling your best. To kick off this festive season, we’re getting you ready to shine with beauty tips for Christmas and New Years.

  • Hydration is a priority. The weather is already cooling down and the humidity is dropping too. This leaves your skin open to flaking and itching as well as causing potentially dry and chapped lips. The cooler weather might mean that you don’t feel as thirsty but be sure to take plenty of sips of water or sip on hot tea so that your body can stay hydrated. This will help keep your skin glowing and your body healthy and functioning at its best.

  • Nourish your skin. And speaking of hydration, it’s also important to give your skin a little bit of extra nourishment in the form of moisturizing during the driest time of year. This includes face, lips, feet, and body. Some of our favorite hydrating products include PCA Skin’s Clearskin Moisturizer for the face and their uber-nourishing Hyaluronic acid Lip Booster.

  • Make a statement with your lips. In addition to super hydration for your lips, as we mentioned above, and maybe even a little lip exfoliation, you can give your loved ones a little “wow” with a statement-making lipstick. Perhaps in the past you’ve been a little shy about trying “bigger” colors, but there is a bold lipstick palette for almost everyone’s skin tone. If you’re unsure of what shade to try, hit your local makeup counter for some professional advice about the best bold shade for your skin.

  • Catch your zzz’s. It’s easy in the season of holiday parties, Christmas present shopping, and school performances to go skinny on the sleep. Lack of sleep can wreak havoc on both your health and your skin. It can make your eyes look puffy and tired and can just generally detract from your luster. Aim for 8 hours or what’s best for your body and be sure to practice good sleep hygiene of the stress of the season is cutting into your sleep schedule.

  • Say it with your eyes. Nothing is more fun than captivating people with your eyes during the holidays. Your eyes can make a statement if you take good care of them and give them a little shimmer. Take the time to give yourself a morning and evening eye treatment the day of, and be sure to use a high-quality firming eye cream like Neocutis Lumiere Firm Eye Creme. Use a good concealer as part of that day’s makeup routine, and although a shimmering eyeshadow may not be part of your daily makeup repertoire, it’s absolutely ideal to make your eyes sparkle for a special Christmas event.

  • Don’t imbibe every time. Another Christmas party beauty tip includes passing on the alcohol every now and then. Holiday parties often come complete with tempting adult beverages but too much alcohol can dry out your skin and make you appear puffy and tired. Try to limit alcoholic drinks to less than 2 drinks per day for men and 1 drink per day for women.

  • Treat yourself to a holiday facial. Glowing, radiant skin is a surefire way to dazzle this Christmas and New Years. Treating yourself to a holiday facial can turn over new, glowing skin and give you a younger and more polished appearance.
